Home Chiropractic + Acupuncture Overview
Dogs and cats, luckily, seem to respond more quickly to chiropractic treatments than we do, with many problems improving considerably after one to three treatments. Regular repeat treatments are more necessary with long standing cases.
Veterinary Chiropractic + Acupuncture
True osseous (bone) chiropractic and acupuncture are very potent therapies for spinal ailments. They act to optimise the function of the nervous system, by returning the mobility of the spine to as close to normal as existing damage to the body will allow.
The chiropractic and acupuncture affect the motion and health of the joints of the spine, and the tension of the spinal and limb muscles and fascia (the protective sheet that holds large muscles together). In doing so, they return the messages to and from the brain and the body’s muscles and other tissues back to normal. This improves co-ordination, and improves the action of the muscles.
Acupuncture and chiropractic work deep in the system, the clarified workings of the nervous system empowering the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Using both chiropractic adjustment and acupuncture together in one treatment is like adding 1+1 and getting 4. One enhances the effect of the other. The changes go much deeper than that achieved by just working on sore muscles. Sore muscles need to be dealt with, but are often only the outer layer of the underlying cause.
